Kanji Scrabble #1: Sunny Days
JapanesePod101.com has started the following challenge: Given a key kanji and a bunch of other kanji, how many compounds can you make containing the key and at least one of the others? Today's challenge: [日] 二、本、一、国、人、十、中、三、時
Days of the Month
An obvious choice, since there's 日 and a bunch of numbers. Note that some of the irregular day of the month pronunciations (the first 10 plus 14, 20, and 24) are included.
一日 （いちにち） ichinichi - 1st
二日 （ふつか）futsuka - 2nd
三日 （みっか）mikka - 3rd
十日 （とおか）tooka - 10th
十一日 （じゅういちにち）juuichinichi - 11th
十二日 （じゅうににち）juuninichi - 12th
十三日 （じゅうさんにち）juusannichi - 13th
二十日 （はつか）hatsuka - 20th
二十一日 （にいじゅういちにち） nijuuichinichi - 21st
二十二日 （にじゅうににち） nijuuninichi - 22nd
二十三日 （にじゅうさんにち） nijuusannnichi - 23rd
三十日 （さんじゅうにち） sanjuunichi - 30th
三十一日 （さんじゅういちにち） sanjuuichinichi - 31st
In more obscure territory:
人日 （じんじつ） jinjitsu - 7th of January (on the lunar calendar, according to my dictionary, I know nothing about this one)
My dictionary tells me the above can also be pronounced にんび (ninbi), in which case it means person-day (the measure of work, I presume).

日本 （にほん） nihon - Japan
日本人 （にほんじん） nihonjin - Japanese person
日本国 （にほんこく） nihonkoku - the country of Japan
日本一 （にほんいち） nihonichi - Japan's best, number one in Japan (from the official answers)
日本中 （ひほんじゅう） nihonjuu - throughout Japan (from the official answers)
Today's Date Is
I don't know the difference between the next two:
時日 （じじつ） jijitsu - date; time (time on the calendar?)
日時 （にちじ） nichiji - date and time
Remembering 本 from the last section, we can also make:
本日 （ほんじつ） honjitsu - today (generally more formal than 今日 （きょう）kyou)
All The Live Long Day
The first is a useful common phrase:
一日中 （いちにちじゅう）ichinichijuu (I always forget it's not ichinichichuu) - all day, the whole day
There's also:
日中 （にっちゅう/ひなか） nicchuu/hinaka - during the day (or, according to my dictionary, "Sino-Japanese"?)
中日 （ちゅうにち） chuunichi - middle day, equinox, or China and Japan
All The Days of Your Life
The following probably don't count, since they don't include non-key kanji, but for the sake of completeness:
日 （ひ） hi - sun / （にち） nichi - day
日日 （ひび） hibi - days (can be written as 日々, too, using the repetition symbol)
The dictionary says that can also be にちにち (nichinichi) with the same meaning, or ひにち (hinichi) - number of days or date.
There's also a 四字熟語 (よじじゅくご, yojijukugo, four-kanji-phrase) along these lines:
一日一日 （いちにちいちにち） ichinichi-ichinichi - day by day, one day at a time, gradually (from the official answers)
That's a lot of compounds! Of course, I only got a few of the above in my answer. I looked at other answers and the dictionary in writing this post.
