You Might Be Able To Guess Who I Was Reading From the Style of the Post
I didn't go climbing this week. Was busy on Wednesday, didn't want to set my alarm today.
Still feeling a bit off-kilter, but the weekend has been pretty good. Saturday, I went to language meetup, then (almost literally) ran into Ames on my way home, so we ended up hanging out for a while. Today, I went to see the new Star Trek movie* and spent a lot of time reading.
Which was quite good, but a few comments:
1. Was any one else bothered that they cast the actor who plays Sylar on Heroes as Spock? The characters' are similar enough (with that sort of creepy, preternaturally calm way of talking) that I kept getting bleed-through.
2. I was going to say the same thing about Harry Kim and Sulu, but I was mistaken, they just look very similar in the context of those characters.
3. I'm annoyed that they wasted the chance to give Uhura a less completely-passive characterization, they just made her the love interest.
4. The previews were also surprisingly well-selected, the only one of the movies previewed that I probably won't see was Land of the Lost, and that at least had Will Ferrell getting eaten by a dinosaur.
