Another Nice Day
Today was a good day. Met ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
polygonia for lunch at Porter and a walk though the city, which made for a very pleasant afternoon. Really enjoyed the good weather, too, although it got a bit cold / windy / rainy in the late afternoon and evening.
Later, went to Film Club to see Up, an fanciful adventure story that touches on some surprisingly tough issues for a children's film (which they handle with a lot of finesse, but there are definitely moments where the lack of punch-pulling is surprising given that it's Disney/Pixar). I saw it in 3D (not at all necessary for this film, but cool), and the 3D effects were done in such a way as to enhance the whole experience without seeming gimmicky or tacked-on. Probably Pixar's new best.
Also, someone's making a movie adaptation of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (which I'm actually sort of excited about, it answers the big unanswered question of the book in a way that (while obvious) might be entertaining).
Only bad part of the day was failing to recognize one of the Film Club participants when I ran into him on the T on the way home (one of a handful of people I'd been eating dinner with just a few minutes earlier). Embarrassing...
