Funny about your title: ever since I started writing the article you linked to, my brain has been nagging at me to try to finish the filk. "I got the fund right here, the name is Paul Revere, and broker says if the economy's clear, can do, can do. And if the broker says the fund can do, can do! ... I got the morning line, the fund is Valentine, and my broker says he has it at 5 to 9, and if it's 5 to 9, the fund has a chance" and that's about where I bog down, not least of which because when we get to "if it rained last night, because the X means likes mud" I'm not sure what to do with it.

If you read a lot of Damon Runyon, the problem is not writing (or talking) like Damon Runyon. If you read enough of his stuff, the problem is stopping.
