Beautiful Isle of Sandy

So, Sandy Island Camp was great, and it was really good to see my family again. I also had plenty of time to read and relax, and the food was good, too. It wasn't the best weather for swimming, although the weather was fairly nice, but I did get a bit of swimming and boating in.

At any rate, I have some pictures to share (the indoor ones didn't come out so well, so I'll show you some of the scenery):

The lodge. This is at the center of the camp, right by the waterfront.

Lake Winnipesaukee, the waterfront. Don't know who's in the foreground.

This sign is posted at the waterfront. I've always found it amusing.

To the right of the waterfront is the dock. Campers arrive on the Big Sandy II, which is the middle boat.

Some ducks in front of one of the cabins.

Also, since I read a lot of books, I might as well mention which ones I read:
  • Shadow of the Giant by Orson Scott Card
  • The Rivers of Zadaa by DJ MacHale (latest book in the "Pendragon" series)
  • The Soul of a Chef by Michael Ruhlman
  • Mountains Beyond Mountains by Traci Kidder
  • Less Than Human by Maxine McArthur
  • The Long Emergency by James Howard Kunstler
I also started on The Wiz Biz II by Rick Cook and Kant's Critique of Pure Reason.
