Uneasy Hibernation
I probably won't be able to get a job. None of the places that might hire me seem interested in hiring someone on a short time-frame. I've been dreaming of living in Boston (literally, which is annoying). And I've been having odd nightmarish dreams (there's nothing particularly scary about the content of the dreams, but they still feel rather unpleasant).
I have plenty to do, but I don't feel very productive.
I went to Qdoba with Markos on Saturday. Qdoba is rather Chipotle-like, perhaps a little better. The burritos were good. I love burritos. I could go on some sort of burrito-based quest, but it's been done. Other foodie endeavors are more difficult to pursue on no income, although I am trying to do a bit of interesting cooking at home.
Mel's birthday was today, her party was yesterday.
Shaker Schools were closed today due to the cold, and they're closed tomorrow, too (surprisingly). It's cold.
I've been a bit worried about Japan, lately, too. (Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited. Looking forward to it. But still worried... I think I'll write about this later when my thoughts are more organized.)

chipotle burrito quest
(Anonymous) 2007-02-06 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)i welcome you to join in the fun (http://chipotlog.com/user/register) - as long as you're eating chipotle, that is.
qDoba seems good to me - especially the queso burrito - but qDoba's food doesn't have the integrity that chipotle does (e.g. free range meats, rgbh free sour cream, organic veggies, etc.)

I like Chipotle. Their burritos are the most filling of any I've tried (lots of rice) and quite tasty. My only complaint are the relative lack of variety (not that there aren't choices, but I've seen more) and the fact that the hot salsa always gives me indigestion (which annoys me because I enjoy the taste and find the medium somewhat blander than ideal).
Anna's is still my favorite (super burrito al pastor con todo used to be the best meal in Boston under $5 (now $5.10)). However, I haven't been to any of the much vaunted California burrito joints.
Many thanks for the comment.
queso burrito
(Anonymous) 2007-02-07 03:08 am (UTC)(link)i find that qdoba's tortillas are more flexible. i think they're better than the chipotle tortillas though i'm fairly sure that they are not as "authentic" nor as healthy.
which part seemed too moist to you? was it the internals?
Re: queso burrito
Yeah, a bit. The thing that bothered me was that the burrito felt like it was about to tear / fall apart. That could be due to the more flexible tortilla or sloppy wrapping (they had some trouble while rolling up my burrito (had to unroll it and try again)).

Have you been to Que Tal? on Coventry? There's a chipotle down the street, but Que Tal? is the REAL burrito place. (http://hs.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2211041220) ()
