Strange and New
Last night, I had a really strange dream. I dreamed I wasn't happy at Olin, so I was going to MIT instead, but I was worried I wouldn't be happy there, and I was talking to my mom about this in an airport terminal. When I woke up and I was very confused for a few seconds because the dream was so vivid. I didn't make any sense, as I am happy at Olin, as things are so crazy and new here, and the food is great, and the classes are interesting, and I have to leave wherever I am only five minutes before one of my classes begins, but I guess I wasn't prepared for how different the engineering stuff would be. And as fun as a curriculum that currently centers on jumping insects and bottle rockets (as ways of looking at Math, Science, and Engineering) is, I'm not sure how practical or useful it will be... It's odd, this is the first time I've been at all worried about my Olin education. It's different from what I expected...
But I do enjoy it, and the material is interesting, and the work is manageable (so far). Maybe I'm just suffering from newness overload. I've also been somewhat less social during the past few days. I'm going to have to put a little more effort into that... it's just a bit overwhelming at the moment.
Thursday is engineering day for me. (Not that everyday isn't engineering day for me, but Thursday I have all three of my engineering classes (Software Design (SD), ECS, and Design Nature (DN)).
On other topics:
Nation-States is a lot of fun, and the roleplaying that goes on in the forums is quite good.
I created a livejournal quotes community,
imquotes (for quotes from AIM and the like), to fill a gap not covered by other quotes communities.
_redpanda_ supported me by linking to it and allowing me to advertise it on
metaquotes. It's been in existence for about 3 days, and currently it has 39 members and 41 observers, so things look promising for it's continuing growth.
That's about it, I guess...

On a more serious note, be sure to think about your priorities. From my point of view, interpersonal stuff is really more important, if less urgent, than problem sets and lectures, and one needs to find a good balance there. I think you know what I think already, though. I hope you dance.
On an unrelated note, I'm going to a ren faire a week from Saturday (on the 18th). It's called King Richard's Faire. I don't really know where it is or how you'd get there without crust (aka alums that never left) to drive you, but I thought you might be interested. You can probably find out about it online; or I can always ask population units if you want more info.

1- You're just saying that because you're jealous.
2- I agree. Actually, academics isn't too stressful (yet).
3- Sounds interesting, and I'd love to go, but I'd need transportation (due to my innate lack of teleportation abilities)...
On a related note, are you considering going to the Champions of Kamigawa Prerelease Tournament (September 17-19). I want to go at some point (probably on Sunday), but I still need to figure out how I'm going to get there (probably by public transportation, but I haven't figured out the timing yet).

I don't understand...
Dnd times
Re: Dnd times
Can you post or email me with what times you're available?
And school is good!
