On Top of Things Again

Yesterday was busy. Last night, there was Friendly Fire, playing Unreal Tournament on the school's LAN (which was totally awesome, even though I suck at shooters). On the way back, I stopped at the library to return a book and get another (I'm currently reading Jane Auel's "Earth's Children" Series, which is very good, and I just finished the first book.) After that, it was about midnight, and I was going to go to bed, but some people were seeing a movie in the Academic Center, so I decided to join them.

The movie in question was "Requiem for a Dream" (note: linked site makes more sense if you've seen the movie and is not work-safe), and it's one of those movies that is just mind-blowing. I will add the warning that this movie is not appropriate for children or most teenagers (and I'm usually very liberal with that sort of thing- I don't like censorship). It's the sort of movie that is very ... intense, and it shows things that are, to put it lightly, not pretty. It's not an easy movie to watch. If you can handle it though, it is an incredible piece of art. As far as it's meaning... well, you'll have to figure that out for yourself.

Today has been pretty relaxing, and it looks like I will be able to get all of my work for the weekend done today.

And I love this song. It's so upbeat... good for working to.
