More Election Lulz
How much of this is "rich" and how much is "old" is anyone's guess, but McCain can't even remember how many houses he has. The McCain cadre's response is predictable: "POW, POW, POW, POWitty, POW, POW, POW, arugula." Apparently, you can't be really elitist unless you're an intellectual, and McCain is certainly safe from that accusation.
Meanwhile, Michael Moore is the only one with the gall to ask if bombing civilians is heroic, even if you do manage to get yourself shot down in the process.

It wasn't necessarily an honorable thing to do, but war really wasn't an honorable thing from the first part. When most tactics involved killing the peasantry from medieval times, I can't really say war heroes are necessarily the most "admirable" in their accomplishments.
I think we're looking at this the wrong way here. What the USA, as a nations is doing, is thriving on war. Bloodlust is an old but sure way to rile up support against "the other guys." It's not so much bombing civillians, but the fact that people are willing to do tremendous acts (no matter how heinous or inhumane they are) for the sake of a good cause*.
