No Unifying Theme

QPX School has started:
Tuesday: Intro, org chart
Wednesday: Customers, the problem of airline fares search in broad terms
Thursday: More airline faring than you can shake a stick at
Friday: System architecture stuff

Lorem Ipsum drew me in today to buy two books. Then I saw something I wanted in the window as I was leaving, and returned to buy that. Then that happened again, but that time I resisted on the grounds of that would be just ludicrous. Independent used booksellers will be the downfall of me yet. And I already have far too much to read on my shelf floor.

I have not seen Sarah since she got back to town, but evidently this is because she's busy, not because she is no longer interested in me. So that's good, but I hope I'll be able to see her in person soon.

It is hot and rainy and super-humid. I hate this sort of indecisive weather.

I really need to add more ethics / political philosophy to my reading. Genes and Future People, which I'm in the middle of now, is good but seems to often miss broader social / cultural perspectives in its arguments.

There are 364 books on my Amazon wish list now.

I also went to anime club on Friday and saw some strange (but good) ones: Gankutsuou (The Count of Monte Cristo IN SPACE set in the future, with a surreal art style where shapes move but patterns stay static relative to the screen) and Mushi-shi (episodic anime about this traveling doctor / ghost-hunter / (super)naturalist with a peaceful art style and lots of nature scenes).

I think Mushi-shi is wonderful. It surprises me every time - all the episodes are a little different. But peaceful too, you know?
