Bonus Political FAIL
1. The RNC evidently sent out an ad criticizing Barack Obama for supporting the bailout that passed yesterday. Looks like they jumped the gun on that one, aside from failing to notice their candidate's own position. Man, they must really not like that guy. And by that guy, I mean John McCain.
2. Here's an article on why the Republican "base" supports Palin, she really is just like them. And don't feel sorry for her, either.
(The fact that she couldn't name one Supreme Court Case other than Roe is striking, since SC justices are what the religious right cares most about. Maybe they're no longer upset enough to remember Lawrence v. Texas, Griswold v. Connecticut, Loving v. Virginia... History class aside, how about Bush v. Gore?)
3. Here's why dropping Palin would be political suicide for McCain. I doubt he's seriously considering that at this point, but perhaps he should have made another choice when he still had some time to get the religious right used to that idea.
Man, I'm looking forward to the VP debates. Hope Biden doesn't blow this. If he goes on the attack he'll seem weak and the Republicans will spin it as sexist (for those who haven't forgotten most of the primary season, remember IOIYAR). He should just stay calm, be likable, and let Palin be hoist by her own petard.
(Update: Here's a piece from a former debate opponent of Palin's and he seems to concur. You can't defeat truthiness with facts, people.)

Hopefully the debate will generate some good Biden clips, which the media may actually show now that people are finally getting over their surprise at the Palin pick.
