Life is Good
Many good things in my life this week:
I finally obtained a portable music player, an iPod Classic with a cheap leather case to protect it from scratches and an AC adapter so I can charge it conveniently at work (possibly not necessary, since the battery life is phenomenal). I've really enjoyed having music during my workouts and listening to podcasts while coding. On a related note, I've been making good progress on my work this week.
My independent strength-training workouts have been going decently. I was able to do a single chin-up unassisted for the first time on Saturday.
I've been playing (and I've mostly finished) Crackdown on the 360, which is fun. Fallout 3 comes out soon.
Enjoying time spent with friends: I watched Batman (Gotham Knight and some of Batman Beyond) with Ginneh and Neruson yesterday evening, and I went for tapas with Ginneh, DJ, and Kelcy this evening. I'd never done tapas before, and it was great. The food was delicious, and there were some good cocktails as well (pisco sour was good, my second drink (something made with Grey Goose, pineapple, sugar, and basil) was possibly the best thing I've ever had).
I still got some practical stuff done this weekend, too: Worked out, got a haircut, registered for the GRE's.
I started catching up on the archives of the C-Realm Podcast, and I volunteered to help
kmo with his website.
Watched a bit of anime, too. Continued with Kaleido Star, and started on Eve no Jikan, which is interesting.
Things are going swimmingly.

When I was shopping around for a music player, I didn't expect to settle on an iPod. I was expecting to find something as good but cheaper, especially since I was willing to do a bit of hacking (I considered buying a player on which I could install Rockbox, which is basically the Linux of music player firmware). But iPod's have a good price for the features and the UI is really great.
