Sully Speaks

Just got through watching this segment from 60 Minutes in which they interview Capt. Chesley Sullenberger, hero of US 1549. Very professional guy, but also somewhat traumatized by the whole ordeal (which makes sense, but you wouldn't expect from previous media coverage of that event). And while it seems he stands (quite rightly) to profit a lot from this, he clearly would have rather made it through his whole career without crashing a plane. Also, I thought it was quite a lackluster interviewing job by Couric, but still, worth a watch.

On a related note, here's a really interesting post with some analysis of the near-disaster, including running various responses through simulation. Good stuff.

I don't know, I'm kind of happy that Couric didn't prod him on sensationalism and instead kept the interview to what had happened on the plane. Then again, I have mild disdain for television interviews :U
