The Claw Caves Adventure (Xave's DnD Campaign)

This campaign takes place on Haername, a toroidal (donught shaped) world, on the continent of Boreala (much like Australia) which is just being colonized by Balor (much like Great Britain). Boreala is on the inside of the torus, so the nights are pretty bright, except for the midnight eclipse. There is also a daily eclipse in the middle of the day.

The Party:

Skikka (Male Scurrian (Squirrel-Person) Rogue, thief and adventurer from Qrerticum via Balor)- Me

Marayili (Female Nisd (Dingo-Person) Ranger, fighter and scout for her tribe, sent to New Adale to scout out the foreign humans)- Zan ([livejournal.com profile] zinnia_zeroth)

Branwen (Female Phoenikiln (Phoenix-Descended) Linemage, disguised as a human, only Cirabel knows her true identity, searching for her mother who went missing under suspicious circumstances)- Melissa

Narry the Clever (Male Human Bard, not actually clever, explores caves because of a recurring dream)- NPC

Harnol (Male Dwarf Expert, good with magical items, follows Narry)- NPC

Ray (Female Selkie Cleric of Zale the Fluent (god of water and languages), actually nobility, but none of the party knows that)- Allie ([livejournal.com profile] lucky_4)

Cirabel (Female Human Monk, follower of Hedwig the Paladin (the god of might and honor), searching for the person who killed her mentor)- Emily ([livejournal.com profile] mlejayne)

Nyara (Female Tobin Adventurer, searching for the legendary human cities above the ground)- NPC

Fembui (Male Tobin Adventurer, works with Nyara)- NPC

All NPCs are played by Xave ([livejournal.com profile] kihou)

To people not familiar with the campaign, I'm sorry I don't have time to do a full backstory, but that would take far too long. I just wanted to do some in character writing.

*Skikka begins*

Most of the party has been resting since we fought that giant worm and rescued Nyara's friend, Fembui. (I swear, these caves are just swarming with monsters.) Mara is still to weak to travel well, Fembui's leg looks pretty bad (it's at least sprained, probably broken), and Nyara has also been affected by the worm's poison, although only slightly. Cirabel wanted to rest, yesterday, but it seemed a waste of time to just sit still for the whole day. I convinced Cirabel to go with me and scout ahead, and Branwen came as well. We found the door that Nyara mentioned (despite some problem's with the directions she gave us), with its spiral of gems and its missing central key sphere. Some more of those crystal creatures were watching us (they look like minks made of crystal and they come in a variety of different colors), and Cirabel fed them a gem from a bracelet she found earlier. It seemed like one of them wanted to eat the gems on the door, but those seem to be protected, somehow. The crystal creatures can't pass through the door (even though they can usually walk through stone).

Today, we went to the door again. This time, Cirabel stayed back while Harnol and Nyara came with me and Branwen. Turns out the problem with Nyara's directions is that she (all the Tobin, actually) can walk through stone (or rather sand, but sandstone works as well). (These are the same people who don't drink water (it's like poison to them and burns them like acid). They just keep getting stranger.) At the door, we were able to communicate with the crystal creatures (they can understand Terran (the language of earth elementals), which Harnol knows), but we were unable to tempt them with the gem-coins Nyara has. Nyara was a bit wary, as the creatures didn't seem to like her. The creatures apparently stole the key sphere from her after she and Fembui found and reassembled its pieces. I think that the sphere still exists, somewhere, but I think we'll need the help of these creatures to find it. Cirabel has another piece of jewelery she found, so perhaps we can use the gems from that to tempt those creatures and negotiate something with them, using Harnol to communicate. They do seem intelligent, even if they seem to be unable to speak.

#1- My lj is zinnia_zeroth. There is no zennia_zeroth. Just FY'all'sI.
#2- Marayiili has 2 i's between the y and the l, because I've already started being obnoxious and picky and therefore must continue.
#3- Allie has an lj now, with nothing in it. It is lucky_4.

Thankees! *bows and exits*

Oh... I was going to correct Sam. Darn. You thwarted me again, Zennia(Tee-hee)!
