An Odd Tea

Celestial Seasonings "Tension Tamer" Tea: eleuthero, peppermint, cinnamon, ginger, chamomile, lemon grass, licorice, catnip, tilia flowers, natural lemon flavor, other natural flavors, hops, vitamins B6 and B12.

Two ingredients I'd never previously heard of, two ingredients I never expected to find in tea, and an inexplicably odd combination of flavors. Nonetheless delicious, although weird.

Random information, from the article on catnip: The volatile oil in catnip contains the monoterpene, nepetalactone, which is similar to the valepotriates found in valerian, a more commonly used herbal sedative. [emphasis mine]

Heh. Reminds me of Mara's valerian oil. Planning on entering any contests with that tea?

Yeah, catnip is one of those weird ones that sends cats nuts, but is relaxing to people. I think morphine does the same thing. Not that I'd be giving it to my cats if I had any.

Catnip is good for the digestive system I hear...
