Today was the one day on vacation that our family didn't have anything specific to do. My sister Melissa, my father, and I spent the day together, as my brother Solomon wanted to do different things (my mom went with him).

On a brief sad note, we took short trip to visit Nana's grave. Nana was an older lady who I knew from back when I lived in Boston (up until age 4). She used to look after me every week while my mom ran errands. As a result, I view her as kind of a grandmother. She passed away last year, but I did not have time to visit the grave last summer. I took a moment to reflect and left a stone on the grave.

Moving on, we went to buy books (I needed something to read during the flight to Israel). We visited the New England Mobile Book Fair, an unusual bookstore. The store was located in a large warehouse, and, except for narrow aisles left for walking the entire place was filled entirely, floor to ceiling, with shelves and piles of books. Although the store was too huge to be effectively organized, it was a cool experience, as browsing through the huge shelves lead me to notice books that I might have never looked at in a smaller bookstore.

Then, we went to play DDR. (I admit it, I am totally addicted to that game. Fortunately, I'm not the only one, and I would like to thank my fellow addicts at DDR Freak for providing this incredibly useful listing of DDR machines.) My sister and I spent some time playing (about an hour and a half of fun for $9.00 total, at $1.00 per pad per game (better value than the movies, in my opinion)).

Afterward, the whole family met up again, and we had a brief visit with David, my father's friend and former co-worker, and his family. We then proceeded here, to Elaine and Spencer's house, for dinner (Elaine and Spencer are family friends that my mom and dad know from back when we were living in Boston). I'm writing from what my sister describes as Spencer's "room of cool stuff," a room packed with multiple computers, lots of computer equipment, and as many random items that can possibly be contained within the walls (while still leaving a bare minimum of space for people).

I'll be staying in this house for the next two nights. My family will return to Cousin Claude's house (where we have spent the previous few nights) and then proceed on to Sandy Island Camp (a family camp we have gone to for the past 16 years) in the morning. I'm sad to be missing that this year (ah, well).

Tomorrow, I'll hang around the house in the morning and go sightseeing in the afternoon.
