Interesting Places
Feb. 10th, 2005 01:42 amCODA (Computing Opportunities for Disabled Adults, a community service group I'm in) met again, today. The first session of the semester was last week, but I was tired and missed it. Stupid 8:00 classes. At any rate, it was good to see the gang down at CRI, the school we volunteer at.
I've got another philosophical post percolating as well, but it will have to wait for now... I'm trying to keep the post sufficiently short, so I'm working my ideas down to their essence. I'll give that some time to percolate.
In addition, I've been exploring the Great Land of LJ and want to point out two places of interest:
fuck_arabs (obviously not work-safe):
Now, you may think that with the profanity in the name that this community is a hive of scum and villainy, and you'd be partially right. The community began as a hate community (reposting of the original community info, which is work-safe but mean). However, some brave LJers decided that they would not stand for that, and began to flood into the community, intentionally misinterpreting its purpose (link to the current community info, work-safe). The invaders boarded on September 27, 2004, with the community clocking in at 135 posts that day. By the next day, the original owner conceded defeat and handed the community over to the pirates (link to the pirates declaring victory, work-safe). Only on LJ does a community band together to defeat the forces of hatred and evil with the might of tolerance, humor, and pr0n.

Quite possibly the most unique role-play ever (and it certainly has some RPers of great creativity and skill). If you haven't seen this, you have to check it out.
