Back to Boston
Mar. 27th, 2005 11:04 pmWell, that was a fun vacation! Got some reading done, too:
1. She's Not There (for class)
2. Somebody Somewhere (sequel to Nobody Nowhere, which I read for class)
3. Inherit the Earth
I also started reading Startide Rising (just started on this one; thanks, Rene!). Although, that does have some disadvantages: It's the middle book in a trilogy, and I like it so I'll have to add the rest of the trilogy to my reading list, too. :-P
I got into Boston without a hitch, but when I arrived at the train station near Olin, I hit a snag. I called for a cab, and the company said there was nothing in the area. The second number I call produced the same result. (And, yes, they were both companies that served the area.) I called back the first company and said I was willing to wait. They said a cab would be there in a little over an hour. The cab arrived ten minutes later, but I didn't notice that for another 40 minutes because I was inside, expecting that the cab wouldn't arrive until later. (The cab company had my cell-phone number, and the cab driver radioed in when he arrived, but the company didn't call me...) But I did finally get back to Olin...
Also, I have a horrible sore throat. Puts a bit of a damper on what is otherwise a good day.
(Also, time travel!)
