Vegas Tourist Trip
May. 31st, 2006 08:06 pmSunday: In the afternoon, I watched Pirates of the Caribbean (good movie; I can't believe it took me so long before I saw it). In the evening, I saw Caesar's Palace with
kristinanity and had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. The casinos are nothing if not overwhelming, half awesome entertainment and half creepy manipulation (surveillance is everywhere, the slots are omnipresent and oddly mesmerizing, and the casinos are structured so it's easy to get lost and loose track of the time).
Monday: Spent most of the day chillin' at Sarah's house. Went bowling with Sarah and Calvin (Sarah's best friend) in the evening.
Tuesday: Did laundry, packed, relaxed. Played a game of Scrabble with Sarah's grandma. In the evening, Sarah, Calvin, and I went to the Carnival Buffet at the Rio (good food, supposedly one of the best buffets in Vegas). Then we went back to Sarah's house and watched Anchorman (funny, but you have to be in the mood for that sort of movie).
Today: Got only two hours of sleep (ugh), got a ride to the airport with Sarah's dad (in a car that smelled strongly of cigar smoke), then flew to Cleveland. The flight was only delayed slightly (by rain, on the Cleveland end).
