No Shortage of Bad News

Man, the news has been really depressing lately. You've probably heard about the massacre at Virginia Tech, in which the shooter killed himself and 32 others, including a holocaust survivor. In more local (to me) news, the mayor of Nagasaki was just assassinated by Yakuza. The consumer price index numbers are in for the US, and we're currently facing 11.35% annual inflation (note that the CPI excludes food and energy costs).

My life has been significantly less depressing... but more about that later.
