Golden Week Begins

Yesterday: Took the shinkansen (bullet train) to Hiroshima. The train is fast, comfortable, and quiet, and the views are quite good. However, if you have a non-reserved seat, you might not get to sit down. (Fortunately, I was getting on at the beginning of the line, so I got to sit down anyways.) In the evening, ate Heroshimayaki (quite possibly the best food ever), wandered around, drank and talked with my hostel-mates. The hostel is crowded but quite comfortable.

Today: Went to Iwakuni for a festival at the Kintai bridge. Wandered around with RJ, a marine who we randomly met on the bus ride. Ate wasabi ice cream (awesome). Took the cable car to the castle on the hillside there. Burritos for dinner. Took lot of pictures.

Tomorrow, we're going to see the Peace Memorial and the Atom Bomb Dome.

I have some homework for over break, but not too much, I hope.
