Today was good. I headed up Cambridge Street to catch a saint's day street festival, then took the bus to Harvard Square to spend the afternoon.

I always love hanging out at Harvard Square on weekends. The colorful crowd of randoms never fails to brighten my day: Geeks, tourists, wanderers, shoppers, crazies, hippies, beggars, campers, artists, Scientologist agents, and Anonymous agitators. The Scientologists were handing out fliers and running an anti-child-psychiatry propagandathon out of a basement office with a very "come into my lair" vibe, Anonymous were being quite polite and informative (with their own fliers), perhaps trusting that their mere presence was trouble-making enough without need to resort to more sophisticated trouble-making tactics. (Or perhaps this is just evidence of the alleged watering down of the once feared and respected Final Boss of the Internet.)

I went to see Vertigo at the Brattle Theater for Sunday Night Film Club. Good cinematography (certainly for its time), surprising plot twists (although I'm not sure those were all good), some questionable exposition... overall a decent movie. That was my first time seeing a Hitchcock film.

Tomorrow I'm back to work for week two of training.
