(This was going to be posted yesterday evening, but our internet was down temporarily.)

I went to see Milk with Sunday Night Film Club. The movie is a straightforward and very well done biography of Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay politicians to be elected to major office in the United States. Milk was murdered, along with Mayor George Moscone, by a former colleague. The film was very well-done and quite timely (politicians running on a message of hope, the fight against anti-gay referenda in California and elsewhere pushed by the forces of organized bigotry), and it even brought a tear to my eye more than once.
