A Wedding Weekend
Nov. 7th, 2011 11:46 pmThis weekend, I flew to Indianapolis for Julie's sister's wedding. (Most weddings, evidently, take place in Indiana.) It was a fun trip, the ceremony was moving, the party was fun, and it was great to join them for such a happy occasion. It was also good to meet Julie's parents again. I'd met them briefly when they came to town a few weeks ago, but was felled by an exceptionally inconvenient stomach bug and missed out on most of their plans. The trip went smoothly, too. For all that I complain about the drawbacks of modern air travel, it's still pretty exceptional.
(For the sake of retroactive continuity: If you're wondering who Julie is, the short answer is that I met her in April and the only reason that I haven't mentioned heralot many times here since is that she's alot substantially more cautious about her web presence than I am.)
A few photos from the occasion:

The cake. All the decor was along those lines, really elegant.

In lieu of a guestbook.

Yours truly, at Laurel Hall before the rehearsal. I should have had Julie to take one of me in my suit the next day, but foolishly missed the opportunity when she offered.
