More Adventures in Food
Sep. 29th, 2013 11:45 pmI spent all afternoon cooking, turning a box of vegetables into a fridge full of food. I made:
- "Tunisian Turnips" (recipe from this week's Boston Organics flier), sliced raw with harissa and lemon (I don't think I've prepared turnips raw before)
- Roast chicken with dandelion greens and potatoes (modified from this, a first chance to use a new cast-iron roasting pot)
- Roasted beet, eggplant, and onion with pesto (like this but lazier presentation)
- Sriracha slaw (cabbage with a bit of celeriac, rainbow radishes (from the farmers' market in Union), and green bell pepper)
- Steamed broccoli with lemon (boring but easy)
- Lettuce with lemon and walnut oil (this probably deserves the name "salad" even less than my dad's lettuce and tomato, but it's pretty tasty)
