Beyond My Bedtime
Nov. 18th, 2017 10:55 pmLast weekend, Julie's mom Heather was in town. We went to Assembly Row on Saturday. Had a nice brunch, then Julie and I took Erica to Legoland. On Sunday, Heather and I took Erica to the aquarium. Was a wonderful visit and a very exciting weekend for the kid, she took an extra late-afternoon nap each day.
Next week will be heading home briefly to visit my parents for Thanksgiving.
This past week was busy but productive. I made some good headway on my new main project, though I was up late Friday night debugging one of my changes.
I've been actually running that Matrix-protagonists-as-Nobilis-antagonists indie-tabletop RPG concept for Xave's tabletop roleplaying game group. (I don't think I've mentioned that recently, but I've actually been hosting those weekly get-togethers, since it's way easier for me to host than to go elsewhere these days.) The first few sessions went pretty well, though I don't know if we'll continue that or decide to try something else when we resume after Thanksgiving.
Today, Julie and Erica and I went to the last farmer's market of the year and went out for dim sum with some Ingress-playing friends.
Sometimes it's a real struggle to get the kid to bed, sometimes not. Today, a little vigorous activity for Eris staring at 9 (tossing a ball back and forth, plus when she tossed the ball down the stairs I'd take her down to it and let her carry it back up) meant she was straight to bed by 10. But I'm still up a bit late with laundry, plus taking a bit of time to read and write.
Eristic improvements: Reading along with books, kicking a ball, imaginative pantomime (e.g. pretending markers are ice-cream cones).
