The good: Cool coworkers, some very cool conversations with random Bostonians.
The bad: Frustrating, low job security, cold.
I need to sign up 3 people in my first 3 days of canvassing or I wash out. My first day was Friday, and I failed to get a single signup. (The others in my team got between 2 and 3, except for the other new recruit who got 4 in short succession. I was working on a corner with the team leader, so I think he overshadowed me a bit.) There's a lot of luck involved, so I'm still optimistic.
I've been apartment shopping, and I'll be able to get somewhere decent to live if I don't wash out, but I don't know what my plans are if I do. If I fail, I'll probably just retreat home to Cleveland.
